Rudd's Cup racing career. On a late fall afternoon in 1983, Ricky Rudd flew from his then home in Chesapeake, Virginia to Greensboro, North Carolina in a single engine airplane piloted by his brother "A.J." They picked me up before we contined on to Spartanburg, South Carolina where Ricky would interview the next morning to take over the wheel of Bud's Wrangler Jeans sponsored Ford. Just as we got airborne, Ricky allowed that he hoped we got to Spartanburg before sunset, since "A.J." wasn't qualifed to fly after dark. Never in my life did I urge any harder for a little airplane to go faster!😃Dave Fultonnoreply@blogger.com
